IM+ESP Update: A Letter to Our Beloved Clients
Edward Suhadi comment 4 Comments

To all my lovelies,

Hey, how’s it going?

I hope everything is going well with you and your wedding preparations. <!–more–>

I am sure by now you have heard about the upcoming trip that we’re taking, rite? Well, if you have not, you can read all about it here.

Even with the preparations, it has been an exciting time. I mean we haven’t even board the plane yet but we’ve had so much hoopla about it. The sparks and the energy are contagious around the office, and everyone is pumped about this quite-not-so-little project.

I am writing this letter to you to let you know that we have not forgotten you, our paying clients.

It’s true that I conceive this project to satisfy the adventurous and experimental needs of my own life, but a big chunk of “why did you do it” is to make me, Henry and Handry better photographers, or dare I say it, better photojournalists.

If we want to be honest, we can not do much about how weddings are administered. It must follow a certain set of traditions, values and ceremonies. That’s not a bad thing really, since I deeply believe that weddings need to have values and divinity.

But there lies the ‘problem’: We’re shooting the same things over and over again. Sure we can stretch things here and there, but still, in its wholeness: the same things, over and over again.

We would love to freshen up. To have new eyes, new way of shooting things, to give different sets of great pictures, everytime, to every client (that’s you).

What better way to do this than a visual retreat? A period of time of us holding cameras and not point them to brides and grooms, but to, I dunno, fishes and fishermen? Classes and teachers? Bicycles and motorbikes?

So you see, this sabbatical leave is not about all fun and games. A large part of it is, but in its conception, you, our clients, are always in our heads.

We want to come home, shower, shave, pedicure, menicure, dress up, then come to your wedding with a camera in hand to shoot pictures we can be proud of.

So our dear clients, give us your blessings.

We promise you we’ll be back.

If we’re not, you can always hunt Evy down for your down payments.

Sincerely,
Edward

  2. Edward and Team!….. Have a safe trip!! And you’re doing this during the Lenten season, I guess it will give more meaning to the season itself. Just as the theme of this year said: Mari Berbagi a.k.a Let’s Share, I can’t wait for you and your team to share the most incredible stories and pictures. It means a lot to me and Feliz to have you and the team as our wedding photographers, and it is our honor to have you and the team as our friends.
