Lecollie Launching: Rethinking Animal Portraits
Edward Suhadi comment 0 Comments

In my recent years, I find animals interesting.

It all started when I accidently adopt Leica, one of my current dog now. Never before I experience such intense emotions from an animal. Excited, happy, angry, sulky, envy, horny, and so on. Sitting quietly observing how they play, how they fight for food, how they interact always brings up questions about what really is going inside their heads. Started from one dog, but now I watch Animal Planet more closely. My interest towards this subject is up to a point that I stated, more than once, that in a different life, I would have been an animal behavioural researcher/scientist. I really think that animals in general, and dogs in particular, have personalities. They have it. If you had a dog, you’ll definetely agree with me. And as a guy with a deep belief in such things, I believe I can understand more, learning little by little everyday.

That’s what I believe will define Lecollie Portraits. Not only the fancy lighting and retouching, but most importantly, I will do my best to bring the personality in to every frame. I’m determined to make the finest yet most personal portraits people ever seen of their dogs ever. Because I can shoot, and because I love their wagging tails so much. This one’s personal.

If you have a minute, you can visit Lecollie Portraits now. Will steadily add more work.

And to mark this joyous day, we’re having a little contest. It’s very easy:

*****
Use the tag #LecollieShootMyDog on your tweets or Instagram, with a picture of your dog attached. We’ll pick six of you to be shot and featured on our annual calender for all to see 🙂 The contest will be open up to this Friday 11:59 PM.

I would be very thankful if you can spread this good news. We’re ready to shoot, and our doggie operators are standing by.

PS: This will also be the last time I will post any dog related topics in this blog. We’ll continue that in the Lecollie blog, Lessons From A Dog.
