In three days I’ll be on a flight to Italy, making my way to the town of Sorrento, Naples (it’s the beach facing the famous Capri Island).

I’ll be shooting a wedding of my very dear friend Raymond. He’s one of the *gang* (sigh… don’t you miss high school?) back in those days. I’ve literally lost contact with him when he’s leaving to study in the Netherlands. But, whaddaya know? The phone rang a couple months back, and it’s him on the other side asking me if I could come and shoot his wedding. It’s like what Joe McNally said when Google ask him to talk in one of their event, “It took me about half a second to say “YES”!” Hahaha… More of that here
The city of Sorrento is also verrry beautiful. From the pictures Raymond sent me on his last trip, it’s a mix of Greece island feel, with the warm-hearty traditional Italian culture. They’re having the wedding in one of the church facing the sea, ahhh… I think the shots are gonna be great! Can’t wait…
I’ve only visited Europe one time, travelling with a tour with my mom. I think it’s the last tour I’ve joined. All of my travels until now, I tried really hard to do it all by myself, bookings and everything. I’ve found the uncertainties and the laid-back nature of ‘no schedule’ is far more pleasurable than the chance to see many places in a short time (like tour schedules).
Hahaha… I clearly remember that I got into fights with my mom because I insisted to take the pictures without her and me in the frame. Back then it was no digital, so I was saving up valuable film of course. I could just hear my mom yelling all the way, “If you want to take only the buildings and the river and everything without you or me in it, why don’t you just buy postcards??!!!!” Sigh… Mom, if you could only understand…. :p
Well, after shooting Raymond, I’ll go to the cities of Europe, with the last stop, Paris, France. I’m browsing my options on how to share the photos along the way. Keep coming to this blog to find out how 🙂
