PassionProject: Midnite Hour

I’ve always wanted to shot the city at night. Lots of city light. Empty streets. Wet asphalt. I was inspired by this man, Tommy Oshima, to do my own sets of dark, twilight portraits in the middle of the night. Of course the guy use a two hundred million rupiah lens, but not that it matters, hahaha… *phew 200 mill? It is almost like jewelry.

We planned to do this all nite, with one of our most devoted client, the Iven Loloque couple 🙂 We planned the shoot a quite a while ago, but alas, work still overwhelms me me, so we just had the time to do it a coulpe of days ago, and Iven is already three months pregnant 🙂 It was kinda scary for me to have a pregnant woman doing a midnite shoot, stamina and all, so we kinda rush things and make sure she was feeling comfortable and not tired at all.

After the great make up provided by Mbak Ade, we started shooting on the rooftop of a friend’s apartment, getting the shots I already had in mind all this time. Halfway through, the rain started to pour, which is good in our initial thought, so we can have that wet asphalt look (we were planning to hit the streets and the city later). Unfortunately, the rain wont stop, even after we wait up to 1 am, so I decided to call the whole thing off coz I was seriously worried about Iven getting tired 🙂 Here are a few of the shots taken that nite:
