This is too precious not to be shared 🙂

Last night me and my church mates finished working on our annual new year’s eve charity, which is wrapping some dinner in boxes and basic toiletries to give out to the less fortunate people on the streets on new year’s early morning.

We got home at about 3 am and went to sleep an hour later. After what seemed like only a half an hour sleep, I woke up to Francy’s screaming from the bathroom.

Still half asleep, I ran to the shower and saw Francy’s soaking wet.

It was my water heater. The thing have been dripping for years, and out of any other day of the year, it gave in on the first day of 2011. The unit, which was installed above the shower sprayed water everywhere because of the pump pressure. There’s literally a fountain in my bathroom.

So, there I was, half asleep, water was spraying all over my face, still disoriented, standing in my bathroom, not knowing what to do, but suddenly, I started laughing.

You know those scenes where at the end of the movies, the hero looks up with his eyes closed and start laughing while rain was pouring down his face?

That was me. I stood there, soaking wet, heads up and I began to laugh because of what I was thinking.

I just found it funny, that I get a ‘rain’ on my first waking moment in the year 2011. I don’t know why I thought of this, but I began thinking that this is a sign, that this year, rains of blessing will be pouring down on my business and my family. You’ll get blessings that when I open, nobody will be able to close it, the Good Book says.

Well that, or it’s a sign that Jakarta will be drowned in floods.
