A Perfect Frame: Sidney Before Stepping In
Edward Suhadi comment 2 Comments
Taking a deep breath, Sidney made one final prayer before going on stage.

UPDATE: Sidney replied to my request to write about what he felt on that particular moment:

So many thoughts running through my head before I stepped onto the stage of ‘Louder Than Life’ live recording. Months of preparation, hard work and rehearsals boiled down to those few hours of recording, trying to capture the atmosphere, the sounds and noises, the frequencies and intricate details of the music we’ve worked so hard in composing and arranging. So many people gave their energy and time to make this night a successful one. So i knew, the load on my shoulder to carry the night was not a light one. Not a light one, indeed. But even before the curtain opened and I step onto the stage, i knew that He who is the reason why i was doing the concert in the first place will lighten the load and will give me the strength to complete it. This shot, this ‘perfect frame’ captured the moment of surrender where my burden and His strength met. I breathed in, and let the air out as I whispered, “Thank you, Father…”

ORIGINAL POST:

A lot of times, this is what performers do. Sure they are ordinary people with problems and challenges, but when they get on the stage, they have to leave all that and give the best to their fans and audience out there.

I love this frame so much. One of my perfect frames. Shot this moments before Sidney Mohede entered the stage for his first solo concert Louder Than LIfe (photos here)

He stood there, microphone at hand, and he gave himself one last deep breath before stepping in. He had to give his best, leaving everything behind him.

The stage director at the right, one hand at the curtain, ready to unveil his entrance. The spotlight behind the curtain gives a sense of focus on him. The strip of blue stage lights. Everything is perfect.

Seconds after that: “Hello JAKARTA!”
