What would we do without friends?

We recently visited Motion Radio and Indika FM to share this story about Indonesia Mengajar, the sabbatical, and the phototrip. We become friends and they are truly excited about the trip. The idea of three metropolitan photographers going into the frontlines to take pictures of some of Indonesia’s modern heroes intrigues them. Or maybe they just can’t wait to see our sunburns 😀

Motion Radio is even planning to help us spread the updates about the trip on their website, that is www.motionradiofm.com – so other than here, you guys could also check on us while we are away on that particular address.

Also, we’re planning to go on air to chat about this. Even just writing that previous sentence chills my bone. I don’t think any of us: Me, Henry and Handry ever been in a room where they have an “ON AIR” light box out front. I hope the presenters will not shut us off when we start screaming “HEY MA AM ON THE RADIO!”

This Friday morning on Indika (91.6 FM), and next Tuesday morning on Motion Radio (97.5 FM). Some nice people from Indonesia Mengajar will also gonna be there with us.

The thing we’re trying to tell the world with this radio thing is that, these things, this ‘making a difference in your community’, this ‘daring act to go out of your comfort zone to pursue your dream project’, are not exclusively ours. It is definetely yours too. Indonesia Mengajar have limited slots, Edward Suhadi Productions have limited photographers, but you yourself can start to make a difference. Start a movement, simple things like using less water for the office, starting a yoga class with fellow colleagues, or comitting on learning, or maybe teaching a new language.

It is not difficult. You just have to beat that “Arrghh… it can’t be done anyways” attitude. Everyday, everyday, everyday, until it becomes a good habit of “Eeehh… what’s wrong with a little adventure?”
