I am now in Ternate, waiting for the 9pm night ferry to set sail into Labuha. My mom’s friend has taken me into his house and we were treated like royals.
I was escorted around to see the small 42km island of Ternate. I see roads with the blue seas on their sides, I see small patches of herbs on front of the people’s houses, I see things that I haven’t seen in a long while.
Seeing this strange but yet familiar surroundings, I just know that this is going to be a fruitful mission. It is strange enough to let you see things in a different light, yet familiar enough to know that this is home, this is the Indonesian people.
