Finally! Wall-E !

After a lot of postponing, and trying desperately to find a time slot which me and Francy can go together watching this long waited Pixar’s said-to-be-the-best-movie, I finally went to see it last nite. And boy 🙂 I dunno what Andrew Stanton had for breakfast, but I think it’s not cereal 🙂 (Stanton is the guy behind Toy Story, Nemo, Cars, Incredibles, Monsters Inc, etc.) Rottentomatoes give it a 97% rating, which is higher than even The Dark Knight, and if I can, I’ll add the extra 3% 🙂

The details are painstakingly beautiful. All the whizzes and beeps and clunking sounds make the movie even more perfect, not to mention cute. The plot is also very simple, yet very enjoyable and fun to follow. As a designer, I enjoy every seconds watching the movie. Every color, shape, layout, composition, movement, ahhh… It is a veeery beautiful movie. I even heard in once they say it’s 8 years in the making. And for a little anecdote, Jonathan Ive (head product designer from Apple who design the iPod) is said to help with the design of Eve. No wonder while watching her, I got a feeling I’ve seen her somewhere 🙂
After yelling to each other, “Waaaalll-eeee…” in the car all the way on the drive home, we rushed to google ‘wall-e sms sound’, ‘wall-e wallpaper’, ‘wall-e trailers’ and such. A lot of hits, but some of the best we wanna share it with you:

I wouldn’t mind having this on my office desk:

And the last clip with two of my favorite heroes:

This week is quite energy-consuming for me, not to mention a very busy Friday. But ‘waaaaaall-eee’ is enough to make me all smiles again.
I am a very big fan of Pixar. I think none of the things that came out of their studio door is ever ugly. In fact, one of my favorite movies of all time is Toy Story :)
To all of you who haven’t got the chance to watch the movie: please make time, I think you only have a couple of days left to watch it in the glory of a big screen.
To all the Pixar guys who worked on every pixel in the movie: I am astounded by your hard-work, but it is sure will be in the history books of legendary movies.
To Andrew Stanton (if by any chance you are seeing this): Please email me your breakfast menu 🙂
