Charity Water September Campaign

A couple of things I learn from charity: water

1. The rise and fall of everything is decided on its leadership. A lot of people want to do a lot of good things, like starting a movement for clean water, but nothing will happen, until a leader, a visionary rise up. Scott Harrison is the man at the helm, and from the looks of things, he is one of great ones. I admire him from afar. Wish I could shake his hand one day.

2. You, yes you, can change the world. If you were not too busy complaining or saying things are not possible. Scott story about how he ended up starting this thing is an amazing one. It is always the common man who changed the world. Not the nobles, the rich, the privileged.

3. Design is important when you are delivering a message. See how good-looking everything is?

4. People are moved by stories. They don’t just go out and say, “Please give money.” The stories moved us. They brought chills to our bones. Seth Godin wrote an excellent book on this.

5. Sincerity always works. Like I’ve said before.

It does work. For my last birthday I pooled $1000 – That’s ten million rupiahs. Not bad for birthday gifts.

Now watch the video below, and be a part of it. They’re shopping for a truck. Vroom-vroom.
